California native Puya Vakili, now based in east London, makes sculptural and thoughtful ceramic designs. His trademark planters are fitted with an innovative hydro-channel system that allows water to drain, forgoing the need for base plates or internal plastic pots and protecting against overwatering. These, as well as his translucent porcelain-cast tealight holders that emit a flame’s warm glow, testify to Puya’s innovative approach to a traditional craft.
