Taking inspiration from artists such as Henrik Jespersen, Hans Agersnap and Knud Larsen, Graae’s subject matter often focused on rural landscapes and his skill for capturing nature’s energy was always clear. While Denmark remained his home, Graae spent long periods in Italy, exhibiting his work there as well as in Germany.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA notable characteristic about this oil on canvas, is the way in which the artist has chosen to divide the composition into two distinctive halves.
