He became a member of the painters’ association Spirerne in 1937, founded the painters’ association Rammen in 1946, and had a number of exhibitions in Copenhagen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eParis was a significant source of influence for the artist after a study trip to the city in 1939. A number of his paintings feature Parisian scenes and this oil painting brings together many elements of an atmospheric evening in Paris. The gestural brush marks and use of vibrant colour are typical hallmarks of Ulvig’s approach to painting.
