Helge Jensen (1899-1986) was a Danish painter and ceramicist, educated by the influential Danish artist Harald Greasing. Jensen initially worked for Kähler ceramics but continued to pursue his interest in painting and made his exhibition debut at the annual Artists Exhibition (Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling) in 1917. He travelled and studied further in Italy and Greece and exhibited widely throughout Europe and the US. His work is held in the Museum of Art and Decorative Art in Copenhagen, as well as museums including Aarhus, Odense and Ystad.

The artist’s interest in capturing the light and atmospheric conditions found in nature can be seen throughout his body of work. In this landscape painting, the combination of the brightly lit scene with the cool colour palette conveys the sense of crisp air and a feeling of tranquility. The delicate application of paint in thin, light layers contrasts sharply with the jagged rocky forms and flashes of bold orange, suggesting that the artist is interested in highlighting the dramatic contrasts we find in nature.

    Small item deliveries (ceramics, candles, prints, glassware, etc.) are shipped with Royal Mail or DPD. Prices are calculated at checkout.

    Large item deliveries (sofas, lounge chairs, storage, tables, floor lighting, etc.) on within the local vicinity of our showroom in East London (E2, E5, E8, E9, N1 + N16) are charged at a flat rate of £24.*

    Greater London/UK Bulky Item Delivery Guidelines
    Large item deliveries outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36.

    Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

    *Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

    Returns

    For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. A 10% restocking fee may be applied to furniture returns at our discretion.

    We do not offer refunds or returns on publications or items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
