Ernst Ingvar Harald Engdahl was born in 1938 in Lund, Sweden. He worked in a variety of disciplines, from painting to interior design. He studied at Skåne painting school in Malmö in his youth, before participating in various exhibitions and winning a major competition to decorate Stockholm’s Ormen Långe quarter. His work is still held today by the Helsingborg Musueum.

This piece is strikingly different from the other artwork by Engdahl currently in stock. It has a more restrained palette, making use of the contrast between the black and the white figures. Yet, like the others, it has a layered, textural effect whereby different elements are laid upon one another. Much of Engdahl’s work is centred around brighter, softer scenes, often from nature. This piece, along with the others, proves him to have been a deeply versatile artist who could understand and employ abstraction in a multitude of ways.

    Greater London/UK Bulky Item Delivery Guidelines
    Large item deliveries outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36.

    Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

    *Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

    Returns

    For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. A 10% restocking fee may be applied to furniture returns at our discretion.

    We do not offer refunds or returns on publications or items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
