'Køkkenbordet Roder' (The Kitchen Table is a Mess)

Knud Laursen was born in Herning in Jutland, Denmark, in 1924. He worked as both a professional artist and as a teacher in his lifetime, as well as undertaking roles with the Herning Art Association and Kulturlt Samråd, which aims to enrich cultural life in the Skive area in Northern Denmark. 

As an artist, his work was widely displayed, including at Sweden’s Art Museum of Vanersborg, the Royal Institute Gallery in London, in the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, as well as in galleries and museums in Monaco, the US, Belgium, Luxembourg and Portugal - to name just a few. His pieces have most recently been held by museums and galleries in Vanersborg, Hjorring, and Herning. He was also a member of the International Academy for Literature, Science, and Knowledge.

Jutland continued to be a source of inspiration for Laursen, who represented it in his landscape pieces. Equally common among the subjects of his work are still lifes, as seen in this painting. Both themes use warm, earth tones to represent the quietude and gentleness of the everyday.

Large item deliveries (sofas, lounge chairs, storage, tables, floor lighting, etc.) on within the local vicinity of our showroom in East London (E2, E5, E8, E9, N1 + N16) are charged at a flat rate of £24.*

Greater London/UK Bulky Item Delivery Guidelines
Large item deliveries outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36.

Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

*Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

Returns

For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. A 10% restocking fee may be applied to furniture returns at our discretion.

We do not offer refunds or returns on publications or items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
