Evgenij Klenø (1921-2005) was a Danish-Russian artist working in both graphic arts and as a painter. He studied at Jacobine ‘Bizzie’ Høyer’s painting school and during the Second World War, continued his education in Sweden under the guidance of artist Isaac Grünewald. After the war, he returned to Denmark to study at the Royal Danish Academy of Arts.

During his years living across Europe during the mid-twentieth century, he lived at the Danish Artist’s House in Paris with Richard Mortensen and Robert Jacobsen and was affiliated with the Galerie Denise René. After living in Italy and Spain, the artist returned to France where he lived until his death in 2005.

The artist selected a range of subject matter to work with, from interior still life scenes and landscapes, to portraits and the human form, but throughout his body of work, his distinctive style of painting and handling of colour are unmistakable. Often working with a calm and considered colour palette where soft-edged forms subtly brush together, the artist created works that explore the sensuous and tactile qualities of paint.

    Greater London/UK Bulky Item Delivery Guidelines
    Large item deliveries outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36.

    Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

    *Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

    Returns

    For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. A 10% restocking fee may be applied to furniture returns at our discretion.

    We do not offer refunds or returns on publications or items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
