In this oil on board, signed by P.O, the rugged paint application and bold colour palette appears to have taken inspiration from the ideas of Post-Impressionism, a movement where artists often worked with simplified colour, definitive forms, as well as abstraction. Bringing together bold and bright yellows, this vivid interpretation of a street scene conveys the warmth and radiance of daylight.

The composition is split into vertical thirds through the placement of the buildings, with the outermost structures framing the scene and guiding our eye to look up towards the exaggerated representation of sunlight. The oversized sun is composed of bold and directional brushwork that creates a whirling effect, bringing a sense of animation, movement and playfulness to the otherwise well-organised composition.

    Large item deliveries outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36.

    Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

    *Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

    Returns

    For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. A 10% restocking fee may be applied to furniture returns at our discretion.

    We do not offer refunds or returns on publications or items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
