Danish artist Finn Andersen's (1909-1987) body of work is considered to be in the style associated with Expressionist painting. Expressionism in painting is typically characterised by intense colour and generous paint application and is expressive of the artist's feelings or ideas. 

In this work, the artist has explored the relationship between light and colour in order to create a glowing forest scene, rich with intense hues that express optimism and warmth. The composition is distinctly split into vertical thirds through the placement of the trees, and also uses mirroring. Both of these techniques help us to keep the eye moving around the painting. 

The artist studied at Besse Höyer's technical drawing and painting school and took study trips around the Scandinavian countries. Most of the artist’s paintings are of nature or the outdoors, consistently depicting woodland landscapes as well as seascapes and harbour scenes.

Greater London/UK Bulky Item Delivery Guidelines
Large item deliveries below £1,000 and outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36. Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

Large item orders over £1,000 are shipped free of charge within London and the UK mainland.*

*Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

Returns

For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. Publications are non-refundable.

We do not offer refunds or returns on items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
